A year ago this restaurant was one of the better Sushi options in Montreal. In terms of food quality and service.

Yesterday (31.Aug.2010), the worst ever....
* The girls serving have not experience at all doing that. Slow orders, long waiting times. Make any question to one of them....ie Do you have the offer 3 eats..1 free ? Answer I do not know..let me aks. 2 Min laters, yes we have but only on tuesdays..Nice..today is tuesday.
* They remodel the place....well ....kind of the only re-paint and extended the kitchen. The bathrooms keep the same dirty look and the A/C not enough for the place.
* The dishes I was used to get fresh fish even for tempura selection..Guess what ? Salmon was old, all tempura sea food from frozen bags, saladas all mixed with tons of regular lettuce.
* Drinks, previous owner was offering some selection of acceptable wines. Now, only 1 chines brand beer, and sake. Well, we order 2 beers and 2 sodas....All of them HOT, NO GLASS, NO ICE.

To finish, prices do not compensate the low quality observed......

I will delete this one from my list.

Fish was far from fresh. I knew this would happen as a big part of the menu consists of cooked and spicy items and the wasabi, which they brought before the sushi, was powdery.

Very charming place-do not get discouraged by the simple decore when you come in-the food is very good and the staff very pleasant-I have been to many 'all youn can eat'sushi in montreal and this is in my top 3

Two visits and really impresed with the food in this resto. The food is COMPLETELY FRESH and not like any of those all you can eat, where they offer you the cheapest food.

The service is oustanding.

This is one of the best place i have been in montreal.
Small, quiet, clean, and best of all GOOD!!!
My friends and i have been going since 2007, at least 2 a week.
The thing i love is that they don't frown upon groups coming in to eat, especially all you can eat sushi.
This place is amazing!!!!

I went to Lumama with a few friends last month, and loved the food. It's cozy, so if you're going with a group of less than 5, you're good, but don't try going with big groups, the tables are not big enough.

The all-you-can eat menu is incredible, aside for the sushi and seafood, basically everything on the menu, is on the all-you-can eat, and the sushi is amongst the best I've had in montreal.

My only downside was that the waitress/cook were very confused. I ordered 40 pieces of sushi for my first round, and got 2. Every order was wrong, or lost, and we got one order as we were leaving after having paid. Also, sometimes they use rice-crispies in the place of tempura.

All that being said, I still enjoyed the food, and would give it another try.

I saw the reviews, so I've decided to make some research on this restaurant. It's a New Restaurant and I am surprised to see already commented on other sites too, I guess not bad at all. So i've invited my gf to tried. Just liked Geata said, The service was very friendly and especially the ambiance is just RIGHT.( If I had another secret gf that I would like to bring out for St-Valentine. This will be the best place to be. Having two tables without each other knowing. For those who tried Lumama, they will understand what I mean ) Besides All You Can Eat, they have the Teppan. It's so unique, I heard from the owner of the restaurant that they have the exclusivity of this Dish over East-Coast North America. Wow. I guess i have to tried that next time.

My husband and I just returned last night from a great experience. We ate from the all you can eat menu. The sushi and side dishes were excellent (I would have liked to see Tuna somewhere though!) I was very impressed with the quality/price ratio. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The service in general was very unobtrusive, letting us enjoy our meal without interuptions. The ambiance added to our experience. Very cute design by having 4 foot high floor paper rice lamps at the ends or the side of each table. This created a calm and private ambiance, separating each table from each other. I am referring Lumama to another friend of mine that also loves sushi and I wouldn't hesitate returning. Great Job Lumama.

I love the Sushi, it's very good, and the service is good.
there's alot of choices and the Chicken is good.

I saw the Teppan pass by, the smell is so good..
only by thinking of it.. HUNGRY..
